1) What SecureShare does

SecureShare helps you view and download files that were shared with you. Files are decrypted on your device. The server delivers encrypted metadata and encrypted chunks needed to reconstruct the file.

2) Acceptable use

• Do not use SecureShare for unlawful activity or to share unlawful content.
• Do not attempt to bypass access controls, rate limits, or security mechanisms.
• Do not disrupt the service (e.g., denial-of-service attempts).
• Do not reverse engineer or probe the service in ways that materially increase risk for other users.

3) Links and passwords

Share links are sensitive. Anyone with the share link (and password, if set) may be able to decrypt the file. Treat share URLs as secrets and avoid posting them publicly.

If a share is password-protected, the password is used locally in your browser/device to derive decryption keys. It is not sent to our servers.

4) Availability and changes

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue SecureShare (in whole or in part) at any time. We may also update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of SecureShare after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

5) Disclaimers

SecureShare is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

6) Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PaperPilot will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenues, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of SecureShare.
